Will Jones, “Dismissals to Begin in Days as NHS Vaccine Mandate Deadline Looms", DailySceptic.org (18 January 2022)

Will Jones comments on a piece in The Telegraph. In about two weeks from now the NHS will begin sacking staff who have not yet been coerced into accepting a first injection of expermental gene therapy. It's a job to know what to say about this. The title says it all really. What the government is doing makes me feel almost physically sick.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this yet, but The Guardian has reported that a "leaked" document from the UK's DHSC (Department of Health and Social Care) has warned the government that Omicron has changed the calculus vis-a-vis compulsory COVID-19 vaccinations for healthcare workers. (In my view, the calculus always favoured No, but that's by the way.) Now, it reportedly says, given the relative ineffectiveness of these "vaccines" against the Omicold (I'm sure it doesn't actually say that, but I couldn't resist), doubt is now cast over the new law ("VCOD2") in terms of "rationality" and "proportionality".

So, what's going on here? Is this a sign of hope, or not? I'm not sure. I've noticed many people (on social media) saying: "Well, isn't that convenient? A "leak" just in time, so the government can do a u-turn at the last minute." Maybe. On the other hand, why do a u-turn via a "leak" that puts you in the embarrassing situation of having to back down due to public pressure? Why not just get Sajid Javid up to the Dispatch Box to say something like this? "Well, the Consensus of scientific opinion, which, as my honourable colleagues are well aware, is subject to constant update as the evidence changes, suggests that now is the Right Time to revisit the question of mandatory vaccination for healthcare workers. We were, of course, totally right at the time, but now Omicron has changed the equation. We are always led by The Science, and The Science now tells us that the situation has changed."

So, maybe it is actually a genuine leak. I don't know, but it makes me feel a little more optimistic. (Just a little. I'll allow myself that for once.) Here's hoping that, whatever the truth behind this, a change of course will follow.
