"Therapeutics and COVID-19: living guideline", WHO (31 March 2021)

No joke. Surpise, surprise—yesterday, the World "Health" Organisation (gosh, how Orwellian is that sounding these days?) published its recommendations against the use of ivermectin for CoViD-19.

"We recommend not to use ivermectin in patients with COVID-19 except in the context of a clinical trial. Remark: This recommendation applies to patients with any disease severity and any duration of symptoms. A recommendation to only use [sic] a drug in the setting of a clinical trials [sic] is appropriate when there is very low certainty evidence [sic] and future research has a large potential for reducing uncertainty about the effects of the intervention and for doing so at reasonable cost."—WHO (emphases added)

(I hope the sloppiness of that paragraph isn't an indication of the general quality of their work.)

Of course, as they're the "World Health Organisation", they must be "right", right?. Surely only the very bestest doctor types work for them, and we should stop listening to anyone else (lesser mortals) whose ill-informed opinions differ; such as, perhaps, the BIRD (British Ivermectin Recommendation Development) group.

"The British Ivermectin Recommendation Development Panel recommends ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of covid-19 to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with covid-19 infection and to prevent covid-19 infection among those at higher risk."—BIRD (20 February 2021)

And here's what Dr. Pierre Kory of the FLCCC Alliance thinks of it.

"I am deeply troubled that the WHO made this hasty decision on guidance before reviewing all the available data. Their recommendation ignores the evidence, creates more controversy, and will only lead to continuing suffering and death from COVID-19. There are now over 24 randomized trials results that have been reported to the Unitaid/WHO, yet today's guidance was inexcusably based on a faulty analysis of just 16 of the available trials. Further, these erroneous findings directly conflict with numerous other peer-reviewed expert analyses that have found the data overwhelmingly demostrates that ivermectin saves lives from COVID-19."

Of course, as I'm a non-medic (with as little medical training as a woodlouse), I don't know who's right on this. But I am able to think. At least, I think so. (There isn't a World Thought Organisation yet, is there?) And I think we're being lied to by the WHO.
