TMR c "An open letter to Mehra et al and The Lancet", via Zenodo.org

This is a very important development. In response to the recent study in The Lancet—which prompted the WHO to pause its Solidarity Trial of HCQ as a treatment for Covid-19—there has now appeared an open letter to the authors of the study and The Lancet's editor-in-chief, Richard Horton. In the letter, signed by a large number of "clinicians, medical researchers, statisticians, and ethicists from across the world", Dr. James Watson (Senior Scientist at the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Thailand) picks through The Lancet study and reports an array of "methodological and data integrity concerns" that demand explanations. The letter also calls for transparency from Surgisphere, the company that crunched the data for the Lancet study, and from The Lancet itself in terms of the peer-review process that led to its publication.
